Idaho is about to go “Animal Style.”California-based In-N-Out Burger will open its 400th restaurant in Meridian, Idaho on Tuesday in what will be its first location in the French fry-loving state.The new restaurant will employ around 80 “associates” with a starting wage of $17.50 per hour, the fast-food chain said in its announcement.In-N-Out was founded in 1948 as a tiny burger stand in Baldwin Park in the San Gabriel Valley, east of Los Angeles. After slowly expanding in the region over several decades, the Irvine-based company now has locations throughout California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon and Colorado. 32-Year-Old Man Pronounced Dead after Semi-Truck Accident near County Road 5400LUBBOCK, TX (December 11, 2023) – Jermaine William Nord died early Wednesday morning in a pedestrian crash on Interstate 27 near County Road 5400.On November 29th, officers responded to the scene just before 3:00 a.m., on the northbound lanes of the freeway.Police report that Brandon Brown, 28, was operating a northbound 18-wheeler when he collided with Nord. Nord, 32, had been involved in a hit-and-run incident, fleeing on foot and entering the highway.Due to the severity of the injuries, emergency medical personnel pronounced Nord dead at the scene.An ongoing investigation is actively seeking additional information. I would like to add that for many years the Fairgrounds Management Corporation (FMC) has been working to expand the impact and value of this county-owned land.Executive Director Abe Andrade and the board deserve recognition for their patient, persistent work with county and Earthquakes’ leadership that made this possible. Their contributions go beyond grounds enhancements and the recently expanded fair. Associated PressVic Davalillo, a two-time World Series champion who spent 16 seasons in the major leagues and became the first Venezuelan-born player to win a Gold Glove, died Dec. 6. He was 84 or 87, depending on conflicting sources.Davalillo died in Caracas after an emergency surgery due to an intestinal obstruction and renal insufficiency, daughter Helga Davalillo said.Baseball Reference lists his date of birth as July 30, 1939, but Davalillo considered July 31 his birthday and Asdrúbal Fuenmayor wrote in a 2006 biography that Davalillo was born in 1936. The 1969 Sporting News Baseball Register also used 1936.Leones de Caracas in Venezuela’s winter league said it will wear a patch with Davalillo’s name and No. 2 on its jersey sleeves for the rest of the season. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Charges against Khazar Momeni, sister of accused Bob Lee killer Nima Momeni, stemming from a DUI arrest last month are being discharged, the San Francisco District Attorney's Office said Monday. Momeni, 38, was arrested on suspicion of DUI and hit-and-run on Nov. 27."The charges against her are being discharged at this time pending further investigation," said the DA's office in a statement. "Although the charges against Ms. Momeni are being discharged, the investigation is continuing, and charges could be filed at a later date." Stocks on Wall Street finished modestly higher Monday ahead of the Federal Reserve’s final meeting of the year. The S&P 500 rose 0.4% after drifting between small gains and losses in the early going. The benchmark index finished at its highest level in 20 months.The Dow Jones Industrial Average also added 0.4%, while the Nasdaq composite finished 0.2% higher.The gains were broad among S&P 500 stocks, with technology, financial and health care among the big winners.
